The Minister of Aerospace and Development of Aerospace, Festus Keyamo, has reminded that the Democratic Party (PDP) people might be going to another big decline in 2027 if he put his hope to former President of Goodluck Jonathan or former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, as a presidential candidate.
In a detailed post that was distributed in his X grip on Sunday, Keyamo described the situation of the opposition party as “cannot be used,” blaming his misery for the failure for the 2023 presidential ticket zone to the south.
“In 2023, PDP did not have a ball to deliberately the presidential ticket zone in the south, so he was alert to lose grip for decades in S/South and S/East, the two most loyal regions since 1999,” Keyamo wrote.
He noted that even though PDP had now zoning tickets 2027 to the south, Jonathan’s option brought serious constitutional obstacles.
“One of the interesting targets as a presidential candidate is a former president of Goodluck Jonathan, because of its feasibility who claimed to only run for a term of office.
Keyamo explained that the amendment to prohibit anyone swear twice because the president from looking for another term was introduced after the 2015 Jonathan feasibility case.
“All arguments, whether the section can be interpreted to influence him will not be decided on social media, but in the Supreme Court. If he is prohibited from pursuing the nomination has been closed and PDP is declared not to have a candidate, no one has to shout ‘judiciary’ because a big party sees the danger of justice in front and deliberately ignores it,” the shirt.

The Minister also rejected the idea of southwest candidates that emerged under the PDP, insisting such steps would weaken the party further.
“If the PDP decides to lower the most attractive S/West candidate, there is no other area in the country that will choose a new Yoruba candidate who will meet the requirements for two new terms in the office. And the candidate will fight with the APC structure that is well -oiled at S/West,” he said.
Turning to Obi, the 2023 Labor Party presidential candidate, Keyamo argued that even if the PDP succeeded in luring it back, the appeal would likely be reduced.
“If PDP supports Peter Obi, the three scenarios above still apply to him, then all his screams serve one of the last from the recent. In addition, the principle of ‘Obsidiants’ will see it as back to the vomiting of ‘crime structures’ and may not be too vociferous in their support again,” he said.
Keyamo concluded that the difficulty of PDP was rooted in the mistakes of his steps before the 2023 election, and warned that zoning remains an unavoidable reality in Nigerian politics.
“Young social media fighters may revive anyone who talks about this zoning sentiment, but that is our political reality and that will not end. Unless something extraordinary happens, the party may have to wait until 2031,” he said.
