PDP postponed the Congress to repeat in Anambra, Ebonyi for further consultation

The Democratic People’s Party (PDP) has announced the delay of the recurring congress scheduled in Anambra and Ebonyi countries, which was originally established for the end of this month.

According to a statement released on Friday by the Secretary of the PDP National Publicity, Debo Oologunagba, in Abuja, the planned ward, the regional government, and the State Congress – the initially established for Saturday, September 20; Wednesday, September 24; And Monday, September 29, each – will now be held on the date to be announced later.

Oologunagba explained that the decision was taken by the National Work Committee (NWC) to enable broader involvement in the ranks of the party in the two states.

“NWC’s decision is required by the need for more consultation among leaders, stakeholders and PDP members in each country to ensure the smooth training,” he said.

He added that all relevant parties must be aware of changes in schedule. “All candidates, leaders, stakeholders and members of our party in Anambra and Ebonyi, the Independent National Election Commission (INEC), security institutions, democratic development partners, the media and the public must record it,” said Oologunagba.

Calling for sustainable cooperation and unity in the party, he urged members in the two states to maintain solidarity. “We urge all PDP members in the two states to remain united and continue to work together for the interests and progress of the overall party,” he added.

The new date for the congress will be communicated after the internal consultation is concluded.
