Perm sec, others commit public employees on a healthy lifestyle

The Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry for Information and National Orientation, Ogbodo Chinasa Nnam, advised public employees to take care of their absorbing the attitude of normal medical supervision.

The NNAM declared it in an awareness and awareness program organized by the Association of high public employees of Nigeria (ASCSN), Wednesday Federal Ministry of the Ministry of Information and National Orientation in Abuja.

Blueprint indicates that this initiative aimed to promote physical and financial well -being among public employees.

The permanent secretary commissioned them to exploit the program to improve their life.

He said: “The health of our staff means a lot. It affects productivity. We are aware that health is wealth. When we are all healthy, there is no way not to work to demonstrate for the salary that is paid to us.

“My advice is that everyone here should take advantage of this program to control sight, blood pressure and other things so that we will be healthy to carry out our responsibilities.

“We had cases where the staff collapsed in the office. We also had cases where some went to bed and did not wake up.

“All this could be attributed to the small things we ignore. Things such as controlling blood pressure, taking drugs because of.

“These are things that we take lightly, but sometimes they can be expensive. I would recommend to everyone that we use this program and keep us healthy.”

In his observations, the National President of Ascsn’s partner Shehu Muhammad, said that the initiative is very welcome because a healthy workforce is a productive workforce.

Represented by Deputy Secretary General ASCSN his partner Ojemhenke Isaac, he said that the initiative will have a positive impact on public employees because they are more aware of their health.

“If members have a greater awareness of their medical needs, health needs become healthier in the long process and in the end their life expectancy will increase.

“This means that they will remain longer within the production club that will make more useful for the country, themselves and their employees,” he said.

He also accused the government of improving welfare packages for workers.

“All over the world, the government -oriented government is looking forward to initiatives that will facilitate the economy for citizens.

“I want to invoke the government to make sure that they see the minimum wages reasonably when it’s time for renegotiation.

“They should also increase other allowances to ensure that workers have better purchasing power,” he said.

In his speech, the main guest and the president of ASCSN, Federal Ministry for information and national orientation, his partner Chika Ukachukwu, create awareness among members on the importance of a healthy lifestyle and financial awareness.

He said: “This program out of necessity because we have seen firsthand how to neglect health and lack of financial awareness can affect productivity or even cut a short life.

“In recent times we have lost some of our dear colleagues; people who served with dedication that would probably have been here today if there had been some interventions or a better understanding of their needs of well -being.”

He said the theme of the program captures the core of the message.

“A healthy public employee is a productive official, financial enhancement is more suitable, focused and better able to carry out their duties,” he said.

He said that the program does not only concern the creation of awareness, but the equipment of public employees of tools, access to health checks, expert advice, practical guide on how to live well.
