Nollywood Veterans Actor Pete Edochie has lamented the loss of traditional African values because of the modernization marked by men knelt down to propose to the female partner.
Thespian, who regretted the trend in a new interview at Podcast Libation, said that he was the guardian of IGBO culture and he opposed the man knelt to give a ring to women.
He said, “I am seen as a guard, our cultural guard without compromise. When I say you can’t kneel and give a ring to a woman, it causes a little bad reaction. Most of the people raised their voices to me, but I was not angry because the revolutionaries were not valued.

Pete Edochie, who became famous in 2020 because the opponent knelt down to ask women to marry him, claimed that it was culturally inappropriate and troublesome from a symbolic perspective.
“In the church, you knelt before a superior spiritual entity. So, if you knelt to a woman, you acknowledge their superiority. It has destroyed white people – they do not know,” he stressed.
” Not in our culture to kneel, culture is eclectic. In that dynamism, it grows. You adapt and adopt, there are aspects that you can clip but adopt these things do not have to sacrifice our culture. ” Add.
