Phyna’s sister, Ruth Otabor, dies after the Truck Dangote accident

Ruth Otabor, the sister of Big Brother Naija’s winner, Phyna, was confirmed dead.

The family announced Ruth’s death in a declaration issued by Eko Solicitors & Advocates, Sunday 31 August 2025.

The family revealed that Ruth died around 6:30 on Sunday.

“With a heavy heart, the family regrets to announce the transition to the glory of her daughter, sister and mother on this 31st day of August 2025 around 06: 30 hours,” observed the family.

The family said she mourning and asked the privacy to cry Ruth, adding: “The funeral agreement will be communicated to the public in due course”.

Ruth had undergone a tragic accident a few weeks earlier.

He underwent an amputation of the legs after being hit by a truck belonging to the Dongote group near Auchi Polytechnic, in the Edo state, on August 13, 2025.

Witnesses said that the heavy truck crushed the leg before a spectator in the end would stop him.

The accident occurred only six days after Ruth graduated from the Auchi Polytechnic.
