P&ID: Court will rule on UK fraud trial on May 11

Justice Obiora Egwuatu of the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Friday, set May 11 for judgment in the alleged fraud trial against the director of Process and Industrial Development (P&ID) Limited, James Nolan.

The judge set the date after Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) lawyer, Bala Sanga, and defense lawyer, Michael Ajara, gave their final written addresses on the case.

Nolan, a British citizen, on January 16, 2025, told the court that he would not call any witnesses in the trial.

The defendant jumped bail in September 2022 and left Nigeria.

In court Friday. the defense attorney said he would rely on evidence already presented by the prosecution at trial and would not introduce additional evidence.
