Pioli Defends Chukwueze on Slow adjustments to Serie A

Chukwueze, who arrived San Siro from Villarreal in the summer, has faced challenges adjusting to the demands of Italian football despite showing glimpses of his talent.

Speaking to DAZN via Milan News after their recent match against Hellas Verona, Pioli conceded that Serie A presents significant differences compared to La Liga, where Chukwueze previously excelled.

“It’s the story of a foreign player who comes to play in a difficult and complicated league, where the demands are certainly different than those he had at Villarreal. He is putting a lot of will and effort into trying to do the best possible,” Pioli remarked.

Pioli expressed frustration with the criticisms, urging for patience and support for the player.

“I’m very happy with the goal and that he’s doing well when he’s called upon. We have the patience necessary to wait for all our players,” Pioli concluded.

Chukwueze recently scored his first league goal for AC Milan with a well-timed volley in their 3-1 victory over Hellas Verona.
