Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric has revealed that the club changed his life.
The winner of Ballon d’Or 2018 announced today that he will leave Santiago Bernabéu at the end of the season.
Modric published a long goodbye on Instagram, saying goodbye to fans and a club that has been his home for more than a decade since Tottenham left.

“The moment I never wanted to arrive, but that is football, and in life, everything has a start and an end … on Saturday, I will play my last game at Santiago Bernabéu.
“I arrived in 2012 with the dream of using the world’s best team and the ambition to achieve great things, but I could never have imagined what came later. Playing for Real Madrid changed my life, as well as a footballer and person.
“I feel proud to have been part of one of the most successful times of the best club in history. I want to sincerely thank the club, especially the President Florentino Pérez, my teammates, coaches and all those who have supported me during all this time.”
