The leader of the bandit who submitted an application during the peace meeting held by the traditional rulers and residents of the Regional Government of Fascari in the state of Katsina on Sunday, begging those whose relatives were killed or whose prices were stolen by their gangs to forgive them.
A trend video from the session shared on the social media platform on Tuesday, showing the leader of the bandit who spoke in Hausa, attractive to the people he had been injured or harassed to let go of the past because he was willing to embrace peace.
“Because we began to hold a peaceful meeting, people never gathered in large quantities like this. This meeting gave me hope that, God willing, peace will be restored – not only in the state of Faskari and Katsina but throughout the country.
“So I beg for a forgiveness. Everyone whose relatives were killed or their property was taken from them, please forgive us,” Aleru said in the video.
