Police arrest 5 people over alleged involvement in sale of two-month-old baby

Police officers in Lagos have arrested five people, including a husband and wife, for their alleged involvement in the sale of a two-month-old baby in the state.

State police spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the arrests in a statement on Saturday in Lagos.

Hundeyin said detectives from the Oko-oba Police Division arrested the suspect following a report from the baby boy’s mother.

He added that the child’s mother reported that one of the suspects fled with her son to an unknown destination on July 11.

“Detectives swung into action, leading to the arrest of Gloria, who upon interrogation confessed to having sold the baby for ₦500,000 to Pastor Peter.
