Police arrest man over younger brother’s death in Lagos

Police in Lagos have arrested a man for allegedly pushing his 47-year-old brother to death.

State police spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the news to reporters on Saturday in Lagos.

He said the case was reported to police on August 24 by an unnamed person.

The spokesman said: β€œThe younger brother was said to have come from Port Harcourt to visit his friend at an undisclosed address in Lagos.

β€œThe suspect allegedly pushed his younger brother until he fell and hit his head on the sidewalk during a fight.

β€œThe victim was unconscious and was rushed to Igando General Hospital for treatment, but was later confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.

β€œDetectives attended the scene and took photographs, the body was removed and taken to the Mortuary of the Mainland General Hospital, Yaba, for autopsy.

β€œThe case files and suspects will be handed over to the Panti-Yaba State Criminal Investigation Department for investigation.”
