Police arrest two men on suspicion of motor vehicle theft in Lagos

Police officers in Lagos have arrested two men for allegedly masterminding the theft of vehicles in the state.

State police spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the development to journalists on Saturday in Lagos.

He said the suspects were being held for questioning regarding the matter.

Hundeyin said a complainant reported the alleged vandalism and theft of his vehicle’s brain box to the command’s tactical team in Surulere area of ​​Lagos on July 31.

He said the complainant’s vehicle was parked at an unnamed housing estate in Surulere.

β€œThe man said some unknown suspects came to their plantation on July 31, at about 3:00 a.m., to damage their vehicles and take away some brain boxes, including other valuable vehicle parts.

β€œBased on the strength of the complaint, detectives immediately took action to arrest the suspected thief.

β€œOn August 3, detectives tracked the suspect to Ilewe Junction, Ikotun area of ​​the state, and arrested a 47-year-old man identified as Jefferson.

β€œDonatus, 45, was also traced to Idowu Road, Ajegunle, on August 10, where he was arrested.

“Both suspects confessed to their crimes,” the spokesman added.

Hundeyin revealed that evidence was found from the suspects in the form of one official car, one red Toyota Camry with police number FKL 260 JJ, one police beret, and one handcuff.
