Police arrested a woman for stabbing his wife to death in Katsina

The police operation in Katsina has arrested a 23 -year -old housewife identified as Rabi’a Labaran, for allegedly stabbing her rival to death during the fight.

Spokesperson of the State Police Command, Abubakar Sadiq, who confirmed the arrest of suspects in a statement on Monday, said the incident occurred behind the Dadi Elementary School, Sabon Gari in Daura City, Daura Regional Government in the state, when disputes between women increased to a fatal confrontation.

She said the suspect was arrested after a report submitted by her husband, Nasir Yusuf, in the Sabon Gari Division.

Sadiq said: “On May 24, 2025, around 2300 hours (11:00 pm), a report was received in the Sabon Gari Division through one Nasir Yusuf, the husband, that he had returned from the market and found his first wife, namely, several times old, 30 years old, lying in a blood pool;

“After receiving the report, quickly, the DPO led the operating team to the scene and then fled the victim to the federal medical center, Daura, for medical treatment, where he was declared dead by the doctor on duty.

“During the investigation, his wife’s colleague, one Rabi’a Labaran ‘F’, 23, from the same address, was arrested in connection with violations, where he claimed to commit violations, stating that misunderstandings with the deceased caused fights and tragic incidents. The investigation is ongoing.

“Police Commissioner, Katsina State Command, CP Bello Shehu, urged community members to avoid all acts of domestic violence and refrain from taking the law into their own hands.”
