Police arrested three cult suspects in Lagos

The police operation in Lagos has arrested three cult suspects in the state.

A spokesman for the State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed this in a statement on Saturday at Lagos.

He said the suspects were arrested during their cult meeting in Elemoro in the Ibeju-Lekki area in the state on April 26.

The spokesman said: “The operators, while patrolling routine, got wind from a meeting that violated the law of around 15 people suspected of being a cult and acted quickly, approaching the group and managed to capture three suspects, while others fled from the scene.

“The search conducted on the suspects caused the recovery of two firearms: a broken bereta pistol and a locally -made pistol with one not removed cartridge.

“These weapons were confiscated, and efforts were ongoing to arrest the suspect who escaped, when the investigation continued.”
