Police Debunks Bank Robbery Reports in Port Harcourt

The Rivers State Police Command in Rivers has canceled the armed robbery report at a popular bank in Port Harcourt.

A spokesman for the State Police Command, Grace Ayirge-Koko, made clarification in a statement at Port Harcourt on Wednesday.

He urged the countries to ignore the report, which claimed that armed robbers invaded banks on September 23, and asked residents to avoid parts of the city.

The statement reads: “The order states that there is no such incident everywhere in Port Harcourt or throughout the State of Rivers.”
Ayirne-koko said the report was designed to cause unnecessary panic and fear among residents.

“We urge the public to ignore the report fully and stop sharing information that is not verified,” he added.
