Police detonate bomb in Lagos

Police officers in Lagos on Wednesday deactivated an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in the Ikeja area of ​​the state.

State police spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the news to journalists in Ikeja.

He said the bomb was found on the roadside along Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way.

The incident has raised fears of a possible breakdown in law and order in the state, just 24 hours before a nationwide protest organised by a group of Nigerians to voice their anger over perceived poor governance in the country.
