Police in the state of Adamawa have arrested a local herbalist who was identified as Murtala Moses, for the alleged killing of the ritual of a 11 -year -old boy, who was David, and let go of his eyes.
Commissioner of the State Police, CP Dankbo Morris, who confirmed the arrest of Moses in a statement on Sunday, said the incident occurred in the Kodomun Village in the Regional Government area after reporting by the victim’s mother, Alifa Luxury, and the Head of Kodomun Village.
According to Morris, Alifas had submitted a complaint in the Demsa Police Division that his son who had been brought to herbalist for treatment, died while in his resistance in a suspicious condition.
“In a surprising revelation, the grieving mother stated that the arrangement was being carried out to transport the body of her son’s body.
“However, when he returned to take the corpse from the Herbalist room, he found that his son’s left eye had been released,” said the police commissioner.
“Responding to the report quickly, the police operation from the Demsa Division visited the scene and immediately arrested the suspect.
“We will not leave the stone that was missed in our investigation. The suspect was detained and the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) has been directed to conduct a wise and comprehensive investigation.
“The police hereby urged community members to remain calm and promise transparency and perseverance in revealing the truth behind the incident.
“Further updates will be given as the investigation takes place,” he convinced.
