A 27 -year -old man, Joseph Babari from Bambur Daranga Ward, Karim Lamido Lga, the state of Taraba suspected of gathering N80,000 to fight in the state of the highlands has been arrested.
The suspect was arrested by the Gombe State Police Command with the exhibition including, automatic rifles made locally, eight rounds of live ammunition 7.62mm, locally made black vests and a group of charm.
PPRO Command, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, in a statement stated that, “On April 30, 2025, around 2330, a police patrol team attached to the Pero-Chonge division, Shangom LGA when stopping and searching along the border between Gombe and Taraba countries, successfully applied to the suspects above.”
He added that “He was found in ownership that violates the law of automatic rifles made locally, eight rounds of life ammunition, black -made black vests and a group of charm.”
Buhari Abdullahi added that, “During the preliminary interrogation, the suspect revealed that he was traveling from Maikatako, Bokos LGA from the state of Plateau, with the intention of achieving Karim Lamido Lga from the state of Taraba.

“However, further investigation revealed that the suspect had been contracted as a warrior at the N180,000 level to operate in Bokos LGA from the State of the highlands for two months with one ISAH whose family name was still unknown,” PPRO ADDDD.
The suspect is currently in police custody together with an exhibition that is restored while further investigation is ongoing to determine the source and purpose of using the weapon.
Police Commissioner, Gombe State Command, CP Bello Yahaya repeated its commitment to maintain peace, prevent the proliferation of illegal firearms, and ensure the safety of all residents.
He urged the community to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the nearest security agent.
