Police officers have killed five suspected bandits in Taraba State.
The state Commissioner of Police, David Iloyonomon, disclosed this to journalists on Saturday in Jalingo.
He said the operation, carried out in collaboration with a truth advocacy group in the state, followed the kidnapping of four people in Komi village in Ardo-Kola local government area by gunmen.
CP added that one of the kidnappers had been arrested and charged to court but returned to kidnapping after being released.
βThe kidnappers ambushed the security officers when they were being chased to rescue the four kidnap victims but due to their superiority in firearms they escaped.
