Police kill two suspected IPOB members, recover 300 IEDs in Imo raid

Police agents in Imo have raided the camp of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), known as “Mother Valley” and killed two suspected members of the group in the state.

They also recovered more than 300 Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) during the operation.

The state Commissioner of Police, Audu Bosso, confirmed the raid at a press conference held at the command headquarters in Owerri on Wednesday.

Bosso said the agents, in synergy with the military and other similar security agencies, raided the camp, located in Orsu Local Government Area of ​​the state between February and this month.

The CP said: “The terrorists engaged in a firefight with the operatives but were ultimately subdued by the operatives’ superior firepower.

“During the operation, two terrorists were neutralized, while more than 300 IEDs, gas cylinders and galvanized pipes as well as five exotic vehicles were recovered.”
