Police Officer Childing Armed Male in Kwara

Armed people on Thursday kidnapped a police officer, Ezra John, in the Patigi regional government in the state of Kwara.

John is bound to the Lade Division in the Kwara State Police Command.

The spokesman of the order, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, confirmed the incident in a statement on Friday at Ilorin.

He said the victim returned from an official task at the Patii General Hospital when the criminals kidnapped him.

He added that the officers’ motorbike was found on the side of the road.

Ejire-Adeyemi said: “We have activated the tactical team to go to find it. We did not leave the missing stone to make sure he was saved safely and the perpetrators were taken to the book.

“Residents are advised to be vigilant and report strange movements or individuals to security institutions.

“Further abduction has raised concerns about increasing insecurity in Patigi and his side by side, with stakeholders calling for a stronger security presence to protect life and property.”
