Police officers in Akwa Ibom have rescued 10 pregnant women from a baby factory.
The state Commissioner of Police, Waheed Ayilara, disclosed this while briefing journalists at the command headquarters in Uyo on Tuesday.
He said the baby factory was operated by 56-year-old suspect, Eunice Eze.
Ayilara said the suspect, who specializes in running a baby factory at the World Bank Estate in Owerri, Imo State, was arrested on July 15.
CP said: “On July 15 at about 4:30pm based on actionable intelligence, Mrs Eunice Eze ‘f’ aged 56 was arrested for running a baby factory at World Bank Estate in Owerri.

“The suspect specializes in stealing babies and pregnant women from Akwa Ibom through his agent, Ability Tom.”
He said police also arrested a kidnapper wanted in the state.
He added that the kidnappers and their gangs were responsible for the kidnapping and killing of several people in the state.
CP noted that items confiscated from the suspects included two AK-47 rifles, two G3 rifles, one double-barreled shotgun, five magazines and seven live bullets.
