Police sanctions 8 officers for violations in Ondo

The Ondo State Police Command has approved eight officers for the mistake in the last two months.

Commissioner of State Police, Tn. Adebowale Lawal, revealed this to journalists on Friday at Akure.

He said the order held fast to professional ethics and Nigerian police norms.

CP explained that sanctions follow the complaints received from community members during the period.

He said: “We have a monitoring unit. We have provost. We have a complaint response unit (CRU).

“So, once we get complaints about any officer, that person faces it. Some have been arrested, while some have been asked. It depends on your ranking or if you face a room trial.

“In fact, we discuss it every day: corruption, extortion, and illegal obstacles. We warn our people to quit it. If you are caught, you will face music.

“So far, it is very good, around eight commando officers have been approved in the last two months.”

Lawal, who praised the State for the success of the command in the last two months, asked the public to make their complaints known by the Division Police officers, the Commander of the Police Area, or call it directly to him.

He urged community members to continue to feed command with the right information for the safety and protection of life and property.
