Police start hunting for killer of Imo king

The Imo State police command has launched a manhunt for the killer of Eze Paulinus Ekwueme, the traditional ruler of Ochia Autonomous Community, Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of ​​the state.

The command spokesperson, Henry Okoye, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday in Owerri.

Ekwueme was killed by armed bandits at Assa community in Ohaji/Egbema LGA on Friday.

Okoye said the state Commissioner of Police, Audu Bosso, had deployed a commando tactical unit, in synergy with other security agencies, to hunt down the hoodlums responsible for the dastardly attack.

He said: “‎This deployment follows an emergency report received from the Ohaji Police Division on April 10, at approximately 4.30pm, indicating that armed assailants attacked Ekwueme along Asa Awara Road.

“Unfortunately, the attack resulted in the death of the king, Ekwueme, Ochia I of the Ochia Kingdom, along with five other victims who have not yet been identified.”
