Pregnant woman found dead on Anacardi

The State Police of Anambra has launched an investigation into the death of a pregnant woman whose body was found hanging on an anaching on the Ike-Ideani road in the area of ​​the local government of idemili.

The discovery, made by the residents of the idean community, shocked the premises while the body was found in a remote area.

The public relations officer of the State Police of Anambra, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the accident in a declaration issued on Tuesday 6 May 2025.

Ikenga said the police would reveal the circumstances surrounding the death of the pregnant woman.

Ikenga said that the police commissioner of the State of Anambra, Ikioye Orutuug, described the case as deeply unfortunate and an “example of man inhumanity”.

“The police commissioner ordered an in -depth investigation on suspicious murder and invited the community leaders to help identify the deceased and the managers of the law,” he said.

He quoted the state police commissioner, for inviting the leaders of the community and the parties interested in providing any information that could help clarify the circumstances that surround the death of the woman.

He condemned the accident as a tragic example of inhumanity and ordered an in -depth investigation to identify the managers.

The CP also appealed to the public to help identify the deceased so that his family could be notified and recover the body.

The woman’s body was recovered by the officers of the Ogidi police division and filed in the morgue for further examination.

The police spokesman observed that the agents of the Ogidi police division recovered the woman’s body and had filed it in a mortuary, waiting for further identification and autopsy.

Ikenga, therefore, appealed to the residents and interested parties of the UKE/Ideani community to provide useful information that could help to reveal the circumstances surrounding the accident.

Ikenga also ensured the public that the updates on the investigations would have been provided as they emerge more.
