In his press statement, Kida ordered the Nigerians, particularly the Muslim faithful, to embrace the lessons and virtues of the Sacred Month of Ramadan. He urged everyone to be the guardian of his brother and to exhibit disinterest, especially during these challenging times.

Recognized for his philanthropy, love and empathy for humanity, Kida emphasized that the Holy Month is not only fasting, but also about participating in sober reflection and spiritual growth.

For more than two decades, the Ahmadu Musa Kida Foundation (AMK) has been fundamental to celebrate and empower young people through sports initiatives. In particular, 3 × 3 mobile basketball matches have contributed significantly to make Nigeria a formidable force in African and global basketball.

Kida reaffirmed NBBF’s commitment to the continuous growth and expansion of basketball in Nigeria. He assured that efforts are actively implemented so that all national basketball activities begin seriously.

He recognized the current challenges facing Nigerian basketball, particularly the struggle for corporate sponsorship and financial support. However, he said optimism that these obstacles would soon be overcome.

“Despite the recent phenomenal achievements of Nigerian basketball in continental and global stages, the NBBF still faces financial challenges and the necessary support required for the complete development of the game in Nigeria,” Kida said.

However, he emphasized that the Federation remains firm in its commitment to the growth and development of basketball in Nigeria. He assured that the NBBF would be aligned with the leadership agenda of the National Sports Commission to ensure that sport reaches greater heights.

Eng Kida asked all Nigerians, both at home and abroad, to continue praying for the unity, peace and progress of Nigeria under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
