Aisha Achimugu arrested by EFCC at Abuja airport

The important corporate and social manager, Aisha Achimugu, declared the “hunger strike” in the custody of the commission for economic and financial crimes (EFCC) following his arrest by the agents of the Commission.

A declaration by the Achimugu legal team, led by Mr. Chikaosolu Ojukwu, San, Tuesday in Abuja, said that their client was arrested around 5 in the morning, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

The Nigeria (Nan) news agency recalls that the EFCC had declared in March that Achimugu wanted accusations of criminal conspiracy and money laundering of N8.71 billion.

Nan also recalls that a high federal court in Abuja, chaired by justice, that is Ekwo, had ordered on Monday that Achimugu to appear before the FCC Tuesday and also to appear before the court on Wednesday.

Ojukwu said that their client had voluntarily arrived from London to honor the EFCC invitation before his arrest by the agents of the Commission.

He said the Socialite had through his lawyer informed the High Federal Court in Abuja on Monday that he would have visited the EFCC Tuesday.

He explained that the planned visit was in relation to an investigation in progress on an alleged case of criminal conspiracy and money laundering against her.

“In light of what emerged in court on Monday, our client returned to the company before the court to honor the invitation of the FCC, but was arrested at the airport.

“He suffered a hunger strike. He is a prisoner of consciousness and our arrest position is that he has been contrary to the rule of law,” he said.

Nan reports that the efforts to reach the Feccc spokesman, Delewale, on the arrest of Achimugu, proved to be abortive while the phone rang seriously without choosing.

Ojukwu said that Achimugu was a well -known company magnate and the CEO of the group and the CEO of Felak Concept Group, a consortium that includes several companies in engineering, maritime, oil and gas and information technology. (Nan)
