The Federal Nigerian Airport Authority (FAAN) has launched an investigation of alleged violations of airport security rules at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja during the boarding procedure for flight Jet Airlines (VK 201 flight) to Lagos by musician Fuji, Raja Wasiu Ayinde, Marshal, which is known as popularity.
This is according to a statement entitled Faan Advenes Incident at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport and signed by the Director, Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Faan, Mrs. Obiageli Orah,
“The initial investigation confirmed that passengers were scheduled to go up to the morning flight to Lagos operated by ValueJet Airlines (Flight VK 201). During the dormitory, passengers tried to carry unknown liquids on boats despite repeated warnings from flight security personnel (AVSEC) and flight captains.
“In accordance with international flight security standards – in particular, the Nigerian National Civil Aviation Security Program (NCASP) and ICAO Appendix 17 – liquid that exceeds 100m1 is not permitted through security screening unless medically necessary and announced correctly. Passengers are told about this regulation but are reported to refuse to listen.

“When the hostel continued, a airline security officer asked passengers to move aside for further clarification. The passenger was suspected of rejecting and spilling the contents of the pumpkin to the officer, which turned out to be alcohol. The flight captain intervened but faced the same resistance. After confirming that the boarding was completed, he instructed the aircraft door closure.
“At this point, passengers moved to the front of the plane and refused to leave the area even though there was a repeated request. He was finally escorted by the Avsec crime unit for further investigation, after that he was released.
“Faan repeated its unwavering commitment to the safety and safety of all airport passengers, crew, and airport personnel. Authority will not tolerate any action that endangers operational integrity or damage flight safety standards, regardless of the individuals involved.
“This problem is still under a comprehensive investigation, and all parties find mistakes will be held accountable in accordance with the law”.
