The young men who were angry on Sunday morning took the streets in the state of Benue to protest the attack and unrelenting murder in the state by the Fulani Shepherd who had claimed more than hundreds of lives so far.
The young men who carry a different plaque with inscriptions such as “A Cry for Help: Stop Benue Killings”, blocking the Abuja-Makurdi highway, expressed anger over sustainable murder.
They also asked Governor of Hyacinth Alia and security forces to take immediate action to end bloodshed and justice for victims and affected communities.

Dressed in black, the protesters also carry palm leaves and flashed a busy highway, disturbing vehicle traffic that made motorists and passengers stranded.
Peaceful protests will come almost 24 hours after the armed Fulani herders attacked the Yelewata community in the Guma regional government, where more than 200 people were reported dead on Saturday.
This is also contrary to orders by the government that issued a warning on Saturday night against meetings and confrontations that violate the law to avoid increasing tensions throughout the affected community.
