In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Romano wrote: “Paris Saint-Germain are making progress in talks with Victor Osimhen’s team and their interest is now becoming concrete.”
This development comes amid speculation over Osimhen’s future at Napoli, where he has been a standout performer.
Osimhen, 24, enjoyed a stellar 2023-24 season with Napoli, scoring 26 goals in 32 Serie A appearances and helping the club secure its first league title in 33 years.
His performances have attracted the attention of top clubs across Europe, and now PSG are making a concerted effort to secure his services.
The Nigerian international, known for his speed, strength and accurate finishing, has become one of the most sought-after strikers in world football.
His possible signing for PSG would strengthen the French club’s attacking options, especially after the departure of Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappé.
PSG’s interest in Osimhen is in line with their strategy of rebuilding their squad under new coach Luis Enrique.
The club are looking to strengthen their attacking line-up and see Osimhen as a key addition to achieve their ambitions in domestic and European competitions.
As talks progress, PSG fans will be eager to see if the club can finalise the deal and bring Osimhen to the Parc des Princes.
Napoli, meanwhile, will be keen to retain their star striker or secure a substantial transfer fee if he leaves.
This potential transfer is one of the most anticipated moves of the summer window, and all eyes will be on PSG and Napoli as negotiations continue.
