Qualification for the most historical World Cup for us than Nigeria -Zimbabwe Captain Munetsi

The warriors of the Marshal Captain of Zimbabwe Munetsi have said that his country that qualifies for the FIFA 2026 World Cup would be more historical for them than the Nigeria Super Eagles that collect the ticket.

Zimababwe would hope to register his first victory in the World Cup qualifiers when they face the Super Eagles in Uyo on Tuesday.

In the first meeting between both teams in November 2023 in match 2, both teams were formed with a 1-1 draw.

After five games, Zimbabwe is down in three points, while the Super Eagles, at six points, are fourth in the position.

Looking towards the match, Munetsi said that the warriors want to make history for themselves.

“Nigeria is a much larger country in football, but Zimbabwe that qualifies for the World Cup would be more historical for us than Nigeria’s qualification,” said Munetsi at the press conference prior to Monday’s game.

β€œI think all the boys want to do something historical, it is something that has never been done in our country.

“It is something that will take us, that will give us the energy to compete, we do not start the qualification of the way we would have wanted, we lost some points far away, we do not have the same privilege that Nigeria has that our games is not playing at home, but everyone should realize that we are not here for the holidays we are here to make our own story.”
