Raheem Moyinoluwa Salaudeen: An eagle of the future that flies ever higher

Since breaking through in 2023 as the youngest player to play in the Nigeria National League, NLO, at the age of 13, Raheem Salaudeen’s growth and development in the game has been phenomenal.

Buruj FC’s youth football talent was never in doubt, as they have two consecutive seasons in the NLO and are still under 15 years old.

He was able to impress on the field of older men playing in the league and
It was no surprise when the coaches of the Future Super Eagles, Nigeria’s under-15 national team, spotted him and called him up to the team as there is no place for a goldfish to hide in the pool.

A diamond shines through no matter what, he is the embodiment of raw footballing talent and his early exposure to the fundamentals of the game through the Buruj Football Academy is aiding his rise up the development ladder.

His ability to play anywhere in attack makes him very versatile as his understanding of the game is far beyond his years.

The 14-year-old who loves Manchester City and Barcelona due to his unwavering love for Pep Guadiola’s coaching style, his ability to move up and down the flanks exploring the channels is a wonderful asset.

His excellent ability to pick out strikers with effective passes in good positions makes him a good midfielder to play in the gap behind the two strikers in a 4-3-1-2 formation, while his quick turning and shooting ability make him dangerous in the box, which is an asset he loves to explore when playing behind the lone striker in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

Although Raheem loves wearing the number 10 shirt, he is a midfielder who can be relied upon when he loses the ball to counter-attack and win it back.

He loves to drop back to defend his team when the need arises, which underlines his tactical awareness of the game.

He has a keen eye for goal and is a pleasure to watch, with good ball control. For him, the first touch is everything and he is very dangerous when he is in flight with the ball in an attacking direction, evading defenders with ease by making the most of his speed.

He is quite good with his dribbling and shooting skills, the sky is the limit for the future Super Eagles player.

At his age, there is a lot of room for improvement, both in the technical and tactical aspects of the game.

His time at the U15 national team camp is a training ground for him to continue learning, developing and growing under the tutelage of the national team coaches, as he has the potential to become one of the best midfielders in the world and fulfill his dream of playing for Manchester City and the Super Eagles in the near future.

He is a rising star who must be nurtured, guided and encouraged to reach his full potential while having the world at his feet.
