As part of efforts to complement the government’s Ramadan food program and help vulnerable people in the society observe the ongoing fast with ease, the Special Adviser to the Sokoto State Governor on Rural Roads, Hon. Malami Usman Basakkwace, donated food items to the people of Sokoto Local Government in the North
Speaking during the food distribution, Malami Bajare said the gesture was in response to Senator Aliyu Wamakko’s wards constantly advising them to show compassion towards the less privileged.
“Our father, political leader and mentor, Senator Aliyu Magatakardan Wamakko, always advises us to give to the people around us everything that God Almighty has gifted us.
“It is with this premise that I have decided to donate the little I have to all 11 political districts of Sokoto North Local Government to support them with food items and money to help them observe the Ramadan fast easily,” he said.
Bajare commended the state governor, Dr. Ahmed Aliyu, for his transformation programs, particularly in the areas of security, infrastructure, education and economic empowerment.
He said the governor’s 9-point Smart Innovative Agenda guided policy priorities, focusing on strengthening earnings, fiscal discipline and accelerating development
He also commended the governor for his compassion towards Sokoto traders by awarding him a contract to rehabilitate a part of the burnt market that had been neglected by the past administration.
