Rapper Illbliss revealed how the tribal bias almost destroyed his Rap IgBO’s dream

Rapper Nigeria Tobechukwu Ejiofor, better known by his stage name Illbliss, has opened about the sad initial experience in his career, illustrating how a radio host in Lagos rejects his hopes to succeed in the music business by knocking on IGBO.

Experience by Illbliss, which he shared during the new episode from the real shareholder podcast, conveyed the underlying tribal prejudice that had long formed the Nigerian entertainment industry.

Illbliss told during the interview that the incident followed the release of one of his hit songs, “Igbo Boy,” a song that is intended to celebrate IGBO’s culture and lifestyle.

He says; “Then, a radio presenter called me and said, ‘What do you want to do? You can’t make it here. You have come here with an agenda. Omo-Iggbo.’ Then he broke into a liquid Joruba.

According to Illbliss, the statement made him unwilling and depressed. He said the song was not a political or insulting statement, but the celebration of Igbo and their love would be fun.

“The music is good, but it won’t be far,” the presenter told him.

Illbliss said that the experience made him feel bad and reveal greater social problems. He also pondered how interactions reveal the tribal division that still exists in Nigeria below the surface.

“Just seeing the man, it makes me feel bad. And that makes me feel that we can disguise everything we want about being one nation, but an extraordinary tribal division to be handled.”
