Rema donates N105 million to Edo church to support families in difficult times

Nigerian talented singer, Divine Ikubor aka Rema, has donated a sum of N105 million to a church in Edo State to support his family during this difficult time.

The “Calm Down” singer, who made the donation at a service on Sunday, said the church helped his family get back on their feet during a difficult time following the sudden death of his father.

The award-winning artist thanked the church leadership for their help, especially in supporting his family at that time.

He said: β€œI am not here to give myself praise or glory. I am here to give glory to God. I feel it is important to give back because the church has accepted me, and prayed for me, and has kept me consistent with my passion.

β€œFirst of all, I want to make a donation of N40 million for the infrastructure of the church. I want to make a donation of N20 million for Rhapsody of Realities, and considering that I am from the youth church, I also want to make a donation of N25 million for the infrastructure of the youth church.

“I promise to donate IDR 20 million to the widows at the church today.”

Rema recounts how the church helped her family after the death of her father, a well-known politician in Edo State.

β€œWhen I was eight years old, when my father died, we felt very lost and abandoned. Everything we had was taken from us and we felt very alone. I remember that Pastor Joy and Pastor Thomas, the pastors of this church, opened a shop for my mother and that was how she took care of us,” he added.
