Remo, Enyimba secure continental spots as Sporting Lagos, Doma are relegated

Remo Stars secured second place in the Nigerian Premier Soccer League with a 2-1 win over Katsina United on the final day of the season.

Recall that Enugu Rangers had already sealed the championship after their win over Bendel Insurance a week ago.

For Remo, Sadiq Ismail scored the first goal in the 19th minute, followed by Dayo Ojo adding the second 10 minutes later before Michael Ibe scored a consolation goal for Katsina.

With this result, Remo Stars qualified for next season’s CAF Champions League.

Enyimba, the dethroned champion, finished third and will compete in the CAF Confederation Cup.

They beat Plateau United 2-0 in their final game of the season, with goals from Chijioke Mbaoma and Alade Balogun.
