The House of Representatives Committee on land transportation has directed the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) and the Railway Property Management Company is limited to stop the sale and rent of property while waiting for the results of the ongoing investigation alleged abuse in the process.
The head of the committee, Blessing Onuh, gave direction in a statement on Thursday in Abuja.
He said the call followed the committee resolution after a meeting with officials and main stakeholders in this sector.
He added that the call was necessary to follow the accusation of misuse of the process in the sale and rental of NRC property throughout the country.
Onuh shows that the committee has received a report on the sale and rent of property and expulsion of staff members and retirees from disrespectful places, therefore the need for the committee’s intervention.
