Rivers HOOPPERS EYE MAJOR IMPACT IN BAL FINALE After Kalahari’s success

After ensuring a second place in the fiercely played Kalahari conference, Rivers Hoopers chief coach, Ogoh, Ogoh, has expressed satisfaction with the performance of his team.

The coach said that the main objective of qualifying for the final phase of the Africa Basketball League (BAL) in South Africa was achieved.

Speaking after the qualification, coach Ogoh made it clear that getting to Pretoria was always the mission.

“It is a great feeling for us, having described for the final phase, that was the goal we set out to achieve at the beginning of this campaign,” he said.

Ogoh hinted at possible squad reinforcements and tactical adjustment ahead of high -risk playoffs in June.

“Well, we are not yet a perfect team, so with respect to seeing new players, we want to continue doing the little things we are doing. Of course, we definitely need all the experience in the future, we need everyone.”

Abel Offia, one of Hoopepers’s key taxpayers during the Kalahari conference, echoed the feelings of his coach.

The guard recognized the solid offensive of the team, but pointed out that its defensive failures could be expensive if they are not addressed before the finals.

“20 points, they were still playing defense as if they were low,” said Offia, highlighting the resistance of their opponents.

“So I think we just need to return and work more in our defense because we already have the offensive.”

Beyond the defense, Offia also pointed out the need for a better distribution and rotation of the ball.

“Work more in our defense: we know how to rotate the ball and our distribution was a bit bad, but we are going to work on it when we return to Nigeria.”
