Rivers internal revenue service director Fubara kidnapped by gunmen

Gunmen have kidnapped Aribibia Fubara, a director of the Rivers State Internal Revenue Service.

The kidnapping occurred when the attackers, who arrived in a speedboat from Okirika Waterfront, targeted the Marine Base area of ​​Port Harcourt, the state capital.

Reports indicate that the group of about six armed men arrived in a commando-style operation, firing shots into the air to intimidate the community. They quickly identified Fubara, arrested him and fled the scene in their boat.

There has been no communication from the kidnappers to Fubara’s family as of the time this report was filed.

Rivers Police spokesperson Grace Iringe-Koko confirmed the kidnapping and said investigations were ongoing.

Iringe-Koko said, β€œYes, the command is aware of the incident. The Commissioner of Police has ordered the deployment of all tactical units and informed all area commanders to ensure he is rescued unharmed. In addition, the Commander has given them orders to ensure the suspects are arrested and prosecuted.”
