Rodri is expected to be out for a long time after suffering a serious knee ligament injury in Sunday’s Premier League clash with Arsenal.
The 28-year-old midfielder, who is considered one of the best players in the world, has been a huge help to Manchester City.
Rodri was substituted in the 21st minute after dislocating his ankle in a collision with Arsenal’s Thomas Partey at a corner.
While no timeframe has been set for the player’s recovery, speaking after Tuesday’s Carabao Cup win over Watford, Pep Guardiola hinted he would be missed.

βWe still have no certainty [diagnosis] But he will be out for a long time β quite a long time. But there are some opinions that maybe it will be shorter than we expected,β Guardiola said.
βWe are waiting for the final phone call from him and the doctors to find out what exactly he is suffering from and what kind of surgery he will have to undergo.
“We hope that tonight, tomorrow (today, Wednesday) we will know exactly.”
Rodri was named player of the tournament as Spain won Euro 2024 in July and is one of the favourites to win the Ballon d’Or next month.
