Roman Abramovich breaks silence: reveals the truth behind the sale of Chelsea

For the first time since his departure from Stamford Bridge, the former owner of Chelsea, Roman Abramovich, has opened about the circumstances surrounding the sale of the club.

In the next book sanctioned by journalist Nick Purewal, which will be launched on May 29, 2025, Abramovich offers rare ideas about events prior to the sale of Β£ 2.5 billion to Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital.

In sanctioned, Abramovich analyzes his decision to sell Chelsea after the sanctions of the United Kingdom government imposed in March 2022 due to the invasion of Ukraine by Russia.

It reveals that the income of the sale, worth Β£ 2.3 billion, remain frozen in a bank in the United Kingdom in the midst of legal disputes, despite their intention to donate the funds to the victims of the war.

Abramovich also shares his experiences during early negotiations in times of war, including an incident in which he was suspected that was poisoned while trying to act as a peace facilitator.
