Malawian gospel artist RUDO CHAKWERA teams up with Zimbabwean superstar minister Michael Mahendere for new song VICTORY

After her recent collaboration with bridgeAFRIC and Jacobs Event, Malawian singer-songwriter Rudo Chakwera is ready to launch her new project with Minister Michael Mahindere, the song is titled VICTORY.

Rudo, popularly known as the singing bird, was born to iconic Malawian jazz artist Isaac Mkukupa and started singing as soon as she could talk. She rose to fame in the Malawian music industry in 1999 when she recorded her first album with the famous ‘Ndine Mwana wamasiye’. She studied music for 4 years for her first degree at Chancellor College, one of the constituent colleges of the University of Malawi, where she majored in singing.

Rudo has performed on several platforms as a solo artist backed by her father’s trio known as “Touch of Class”. Such performances include high profile performances at the SADC Heads of State Banquet hosted at the State House in Malawi-2003, the inaugural finals of Miss Malawi when it was reintroduced to the country and many other concerts. One of Malawi’s great singers, Rudo not only holds a position on the National Executive Committee of the Malawi Musicians’ body but has also served her country through various artistic positions such as a board member of the Copyright Society of Malawi and a board member of the Channel for All Nations radio (one of Malawi’s most well-known national radio stations). Rudo has been called the “Aretha Franklin” of Malawi.

Minister Michael Mahindere has topped the charts in Zimbabwe and performed at some of the world’s biggest gospel concerts – enjoy this new sound that is set to hit the charts globally.
