In a great impulse for the Nigerian sports community, Rugby has been officially reinstalled in the alignment of the National Sports Festival of 2024, “Thematic input games”.

The long -awaited event is scheduled for the state of Ogun from May 16 to 30, 2025.
The decision to readmit the Rugby was confirmed by the Joint Technical Committee for the 22nd edition of the Festival, after a unanimous vote after an exhaustive deliberation. The Committee cited the growing national popularity of sport, increased base participation and expanded the fan base as key reasons for its return.
The president of the Niger Rugby Football Federation (NRFF), Dr. Adelala, received the news with enthusiasm and gratitude. He extended the sincere appreciation to the general director of the National Sports Commission and president of the main organizing committee, Chief Bukola Olopade; The Honorable Sports Development Commissioner in the state of Ogun, Hon. Wasiu Isiaka; and the entire joint technical committee for its support and commitment to diversify the sports scene of Nigeria.
