Veterans Rapper Nigeria Michael Ugochukwu Stephens, who is known among music as a rough person, has denied the report made a round that he had been arrested.
Online rumors have spread that the artist, along with fellow musician Zaki Azzay, Sunny Neji, Boniface Itodo, and Fega Michaels, have been arrested for financial deviations.
In a video posted to his Instagram page, Ruggedman noted that he was “free and unleashed” and lamented the media failure to confirm information before broadcasting.

In addition, he highlighted that his detention report was entirely true and part of the stain campaign that was said to be carried out by Pretty Okafor, a former president of the Association of Musician Nigeria (P-Man), who was currently suspended.
“There are petitions written against myself, Sunny Neji, Zaki Azzay, Boniface Itodo, and several others. This is not about us stealing money. This is about the money that is allegedly lost in the P-Man-which has not been proven,” Ruggedman said.
According to him, the petition was submitted immediately after Pretty Okafor was suspended by the P-Man National Work Committee (NWC), which consisted of him and other registered artists, because it was illegally opposing trade unions.
“So, you see how this happens? The same person who suspended him was the same person as he wrote,” he said.
