Russia reiterated the commitment of peace in Ukraine even though Trump accelerated the deadline of the ceasefire

Kremlin on Tuesday reiterated his commitment to pursue peace in Ukraine, responding for the first time to the dramatic reduction of the deadline of US President Donald Trump for only “10 or 12 days.”

President Trump, who previously gave Moscow 50 days to stop hostility, announced that he was no longer willing to be involved with Russian President Vladimir Putin. “I am not interested in talking to Putin again,” Trump said, signaling the hardening attitude.

Reacting to Trump’s comments, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov acknowledged the change while emphasizing that Russian military operations – which Moscow called “special military operations” – continued.

“We have recorded the statement of President Trump yesterday. SVO (Special Military Operation) continues,” said Peskov.

He also hinted that cooling in diplomatic involvement with Washington after Trump’s statement, stated Russian openness to dialogue if he met with reciprocity.

In a very deadly incident, at least 16 prisoners were killed in strikes in prison facilities.

Apart from the increasing victim, Moscow insisted that it did not leave the road to peace.

Peskov reiterated, “Moscow is still committed to the peace process to resolve conflicts around Ukraine and secure our interests.”

Latest Diplomatic Efforts – The round of discussion between the Russian and Ukraine delegation which was held last week – ended without a significant breakthrough. However, both parties agreed on the exchange of limited prisoners as a movement of good intentions.
