Sanwo-Olu swear at 57 newly elected council chairmen, Deputy

State Governor Lagos Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Sunday officially swear at the newly elected chairman and deputy chairman from 20 regions of the State Government (LGA) and 37 Regional Council Development Areas (LCDAS), marking new chapters in grassroots governance throughout the state.

The exact oath ceremony, which was held at Lagos House, Ikeja, followed a successful conclusion from the Election of the Local Council on July 12, 2025, where 57 officials emerged as winners.

In his remarks at the event, the Commissioner of the Regional Government, the Affairs of the Principal and Rural Development, Bolaji Robert, congratulated the leaders of the council for their election victory, describing the results as a reflection of the people’s trust and legitimacy of their mandate.

“Your victory in the polling station is proof of the attraction of your grass roots and the trust that has been proposed by people in you. Your credibility, anchoring on transparency and broad-based support, is what has peaked in the exercise exercise we collect here to witness today,” Robert said.
