The suspended senator representing the Kogi Central Sensational District, Natasha Akpoti-Uuduaghan, has responded to the petition proposed by the Senate President Godswill Akpabio followed his previous accusation that he (Akpabio) along with the Governor of Kogi State Usman Ododo and his predecessor, Jewlerya Bello, had hatched one company, Plan to Plot.
After the accusation by Akpoti-Uduaghan, Akpabio had submitted a petition to the Police Inspector General, Kayode Egbetokun, accusing him about defamation of criminal names, describing them as a heinous lie aimed at damage their reputation and inciting riots.
In the petition dated April 3 and also copied to the Attorney General Federation, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), Akpabio said:
“This statement is not only a cruel lies but also a careless and deliberate effort to damage my reputation, endanger my life and security, and incite political riots.
“This is an act of extortion and character murder that is calculated, which is designed to describe me as a political criminal. The severity of this false accusation, and the fact that he has gained a public attraction, makes it necessary so that law enforcement agencies treat it with a decent urgency.
“I firmly state that this accusation is fully wrong, unfounded, and politically motivated. This is an act of extortion and the killing of the character counts, which is designed to describe me as a political criminal, and the statement was made without damage to truth or supporting evidence.
“The motive is clear, namely inciting public, manipulating sentiments, and slandering my people and offices in the eyes of the people of Nigeria and the international community.”

But when responding to the petition through his legal counsel, Victor Giwa on Thursday, Akpoti-Uduaghan, said his comments were not made for political leverage but because of sincere fear of his salvation.
He stated that his cry for fear of his life because he had evidence that Akpabio had planned with Ododo and Bello to kill him.
He stated that he stood up with his accusations because they were not political tricks but despair to ask for help.
“He has received a petition and has responded. What happened when he made the statement was that he cried to the general public to understand what he was exposed,” Giwa said.
He also criticized the Senate decision to attract Natasha’s security details shortly after he was suspended from the senate, even though he became a politically exposed person with a valid concern for his safety.
“You realize that the president of the senate ordered a withdrawal of his safety. If someone makes a big mistake, what does it have to do with withdrawing his safety?
“I mean, you say he will not go to the office, okay, I mean, you don’t need security to enter the office.
“You did stop him from coming to carry out his legislative duties as a senator but he had his life outside the senate complex. And he was a politically exposed person and you ordered the details of his safety to be withdrawn,” he added.
