The Senate on Wednesday confirmed the nomination of Dr. Bala Bello as chairman of the part -time of the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON).
The red room also confirmed five other candidates to be appointed as non-executive director for the agency.
Confirmation follows the presentation and adoption of the Report of the Banking, Insurance and other financial institutions at the Wednesday Plenary in Abuja.
The non-executive director is-yusuf sule (North-central, Mr. Adeyemo Stephen (southwest), Mr. Yahaya Ibrahim (northwest), Mr. Odion Iyare (south-south), and Ny. Emily Osuji (Southeast).
The Senator from the IMO state, Osta Izunaso, who presented the report of the committee chairman, said the recommendation followed a strong involvement with the candidates.
He added that the committee was satisfied with the experience of nomination and academic qualifications.
Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, after confirmation thanked the committee members for the screening of the nomination.
He expressed hope that the new manager of Amcon would carry out their duties effectively.
