Senegal 1-0 Nigeria – Chelle suffers the first defeat as Super Eagles coach at Championship Championship

The chief coach of the National Senior team of Nigeria, Eric Chelle, saw the Nigerian team lost for the first time after a 0-1 defeat against Senegal in the opening game of the current Chan Championship, reports Owngoalnigeria.com.

Both teams did not seem very convincing in the first exchanges, and without a clear probability of any of the teams. The first half ended at a dead point.

Nigeria resumed the second half of the side better, but it is still difficult to create something significant, which makes it very easy for the Senegalese side to contain them despite their high possession of the ball.

With 15 remaining minutes to play in the game, a defensive confusion that involved the duo of the Nigerian center of Junior Nduka and Leonard Ngenge worsened with goalkeeper Mustapha Lawal left his line, but he had nothing close to the ball.

Christian Gomis ran to the ball and rounded Lawal, before scoring what ended as the only goal of the game, and also Chelle’s first defeat in six games since he assumed the position of coach.
