Shaibu taunts Obaseki after election loss, says he can’t win his LG

Edo State Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu has taken a swipe at Governor Godwin Obaseki following the results of the recent governorship election.

Shaibu said he felt vindicated after Obaseki lost his local government area to the All Progressives Congress (APC), stressing that he bore no grudge against the ousted governor.

In an interview with Arise TV on Monday, Shaibu commented on Obaseki’s electoral history, saying, “I feel vindicated; even the governor could not win his local government. I won my unit, my district and my local government. Where is the governor’s result? He never won; we always helped him.”

Shaibu also called on Obaseki to apologize to the people of Edo State, saying, “All that is left now is for him to go back and start begging and apologizing to the people of Edo State, and he has a lot of people he has to go to apologize to.”
